Where Can I Serve?

The answer:

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Berlin Heights Church of Christ  is our mission to the city of Evansville, our region, our country, and the world. It begins in our own community, and will eventually spread overseas to every nation. Berlin Heights members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church dishes, mowing the church lawn, to maintaining our food pantry and clothing room, to working with and counseling those who are integrating back into society, and of course worship and service. We are on the go.

“Go into all the world  and preach the good news to all creation,” Mark 16:15

Berlin Heights Church of Christ still believes in canvassing our city by going door-to-door, and each month we pass out approximately 1,000 flyers inviting the community to join us for classes, worship and fellowships.  In the future we hope and pray to utilize radio, television and internet media in order to “Go ye into all the world…”  (Mark 16: 15 &16).

“Study  to show yourself approved unto God,”          2 Timothy 2:15

Through weekly and monthly scheduled and impromptu Bible classes, as well as Bible correspondence courses, our church family is “searching the scriptures”  (John 5:39) and becoming more and more noble in character just like the Bereans that are mentioned in the Bible (Acts 17:11)  due to their great passion and eagerness for Bible study.

“Share with people who are in need,”               Romans 12:13

“For when I was hungry, you fed me, and when I was thirsty,  you gave me drink, and when I was a stranger, you invited me in, and when I was naked, you clothed me, and when I was sick, you cared for me, and when I was in prison, you visited me,”  (Matthew 25: 35 & 36).  Words to live to by and we most certainly do, because Berlin Heights Church of Christ operates a fully stocked food pantry and clothing room for those who are in need.  Please do not hesitate to contact our office (812) 424-0098 for assistance. We also visit the sick, and will be starting a nursing home and prison ministry in the near future.

“Gently restore in the spirit of meekness,”  Galatians 6:1

“Will you also go away? ” (John 6: 66 & 67).   Sadly, not everyone will follow Jesus forever or will choose to stay with Jesus to the very end.  Some, will think Christianity too hard.  Some, will leave because of being disappointed.  And some will leave for other reasons.  Too many to list.   But one of our objectives at Berlin Heights Church of Christ is to teach and encourage all our members to remain “Faithful unto death,” (Revelation 2:10).

“Equipping God’s people for works of service,” Ephesians 4:12

Through weekly and monthly classes, small groups, seminars and fellowships, Berlin Heights Church of Christ “spurs one another on to show love and to do good works,”  (Hebrews 10:24).  We train and develop willing members who want to be all they can be in the body of Christ and go as far as their talents  and goals will take them.
